So this year is much better so far, ;) (Wink) at least regarding the life of droll.

A few net radio stations have added droll to their playlists. :) (Smile)

Droll has been added to a compilation sampler going to music media in UK. :) (Smile) More on that when things develop.

Just recently Phoenix New Times posted the article Droll Call

Allright! It's a new year and things just have to get better and I suppose they are. The most eventful thing in drollville is recently getting an alexa ranking. Drollmusic.com Ranking

Next on the list is a public guarantee that i will never... ever... make another post about my cell phone chronicles on the journal. I know it's gonna kill ya, but i mean business. That was 2003 content... NOT 2004. Wink

So finally i gave in to the idea of getting a new cell phone. Contracts were up so it was time to change plans. i just swapped providers with my daughter who was on t-mobile. my daughters number ported over to my verizon acct in 2 hours(really... i'm being serious)

2 weeks later i'm still getting automated messages saying, "we're sorry your t-mobile account hasn't been activated... porting numbers is a new technology and we at t-mobile are working as hard as we can to..." oh... the pain of droll...

And wouldn't you know, when I first realised that my phone was missing, that I would be standing in line at the bank, when all of a sudden, I hear my phones ring...

It just happened to be the same ring as the guy's phone that was standing in front of me. As I wearily got into my car, while pounding my brain over the last time I saw my phone, the guy that was standing in front of me gets into his car that was parked next to me while flaunting me with his phone pressed against his ear

Ah... more cell phone trama. This time I was dropping some cds off at a clients home and set the phone on the trunk of the car while carrying boxes into their house. I must have been distracted by the fact that I was carrying an envelope with alot of cash in it and at this point I can only conclude that I drove off with the phone still on the trunk...

So wouldn't you know the next door neighbors and their next door neighbors are a bunch of musicians. The ones next door happen to have a jacuzzi. It's a great place for them to go after the gig... that's around 1:30 am around here. Last night or should I say morning I got to hear the ever so typically heartbreaking story about this guys dad and how he never supports his music and tells him he will never amount to anything etc. etc. etc. This went on til 3:15 am and if I didn't sympatize with him so much I would have told him to shut the f*** up!

ohhh... relief at last. my daughter told me to try and call the phone one more time and in the faint distance between me and a pile of garbage was the sweet sound of that horrible ring...

ya know, i'm not the most adept at cleaning things and wouldn't you know i was just getting started yesterday and took several loads of trash out and went home. that's the last time i remember seeing my cellphone, so i've looked through the trash inside and i climbed into the dumpster, and of course it isn't one of those days where theres a couple of boxes, no there's all kinds of crap and i couldn't find it and...

October 9th, 2003 @ 3:17PM
